How we test, score and verify

We sell almost every brand in e-moto. Throttles, forks, brakes, seats, wheels, motors, from a dozen makers. We do not need you to buy any one of them, we need you to buy the right one and come back. That is the whole reason this system exists.

• A bad score stays up. If a part we sell scores a 4, the 4 is published and the part stays on sale. The low score simply points you to the better part in the same collection. We do not delist for a bad score, only for a safety problem or a discontinued part.
• We pay for test units. Where we can, the crew buys at cost. When a brand sends a unit, the product page says so: test unit supplied, no payment, no input on the score.
• Family brands get the same test. Two brands we sell, Modded Moto Co and Summit MX, are owned by members of the Throttle Bros crew. Same rubric, same math, same publication, and the page says so every time one of them is scored.
• No brand edits a score. Brands see their score 72 hours before it goes live so they can prepare, and they cannot change a word. A 4.8 is not a takedown request channel.
• Nothing is hand-picked. Scores come from scorecards, top picks come from formulas, and the site rebuilds from the data every night. Nobody on the crew can bump a number.
• The video is the receipt. Every crew score links to the review it came from, with timestamps for the install, the trail test and the verdict. If we said it, you can watch us say it.

Throttle Bros score. The crew installs the part on our own bikes, rides it, films it and scores it 1 to 10. Only the crew can write it, and there is always a video behind it.

Rider Score. Anyone who owns the part scores the same four dimensions on the same 1 to 10 anchors. Their composites are averaged and the score goes live once a product has 3 or more ratings.

Riders never move the Throttle Bros score and the crew never moves the Rider Score. When the two disagree, the product page shows it, dimension by dimension. That gap is useful: it usually means a part works for one kind of riding and not another.

The composite is the weighted average of the four, rounded to one decimal. Without Durability (a fresh crew test, or a rider who skipped it) the other three are re-weighted so the score is still fair.

Two stages. A crew score published before the 60-day mark shows Initial score. After 60 days of riding we re-score Durability and the badge flips to Long-term tested. If the part broke, the score drops and we say so on camera.

Throttle Bros Certified means a composite of 7.0 or higher and a verdict video. Not everything we test gets it. That is the point.

Nobody scores price. Prices change and value is math. Best Price and Best Value are computed from live prices in each collection, not from opinions.

Every product page has a fitment guide with one row per bike and four columns, one per trust tier. Read a row left to right and you know exactly who says it fits.

1. Manufacturer. The bikes the maker lists for this part. If a bike shows "Not on the maker's list", riders added it and the maker did not.
2. Throttle Bros tested. Fits or Doesn't fit, only when a crew member bolted this part to that bike. Every crew scorecard records the bikes we tried it on.
3. Verified buyers. Reports from riders who bought it here: bolt-on, minor mods, or didn't fit, with a count of each.
4. Riders. Everyone else's reports, same three answers.

Pick your bike in the header and your row is pinned to the top of every fitment guide on the site. Got the part on your bike? Tap Report fitment and add your result, with a note about spacers, cable routing or whatever the next rider needs to know.

A "didn't fit" report is not deleted because it is inconvenient. We read every one, and when riders keep reporting the same problem we change the listing and say why.

• Anyone who owns the part can rate it, whether they bought it here or not. No account needed.
• Same four scores as the crew, same anchors. Durability can be skipped under 30 days of riding.
• Email is required so we can stop spam and confirm buyers. It is never shown and never sold.
• One rating per person per product. A new rating replaces your old one, so update it after a season if you want.
• Text ratings and fitment reports go live within about 15 minutes.
• We remove spam, copy-paste reviews, anything abusive, and anything that names a private person. We do not remove a review for being negative.

• Add photos of the part on your bike from the product page. They show in that product's gallery and in the site-wide rider gallery.
• A person on the crew checks every photo before it goes up, usually within a day. We are looking for faces, license plates and anything that is not the part on a bike.
• You keep your photo. By posting it you let us show it on throttleco.store and our social channels, credited as your first name and last initial.
• Want a photo taken down? Message us from the contact page and it is gone the same day.

• We pay for honesty, not praise. Every published rating earns $5 off your next order; an approved photo of the part on your bike earns $10. A 2 earns exactly the same as a 10.
• One reward per rider every 30 days, however many products you rate. Codes are single use, good on orders of $25 or more, and expire after 60 days.
• The code goes out by email once the rating is live, or once the photo is approved. Spam and copy-paste reviews get filtered before that, so they never get paid.
• Rewarded ratings count in the Rider Score exactly like every other rating, and every rating on this site is eligible, so there is no "paid" group to separate out.

Every product without a Throttle Bros score has a Want us to test this? button. One tap counts. The most requested parts move to the top of What we test next, and that list is the crew's filming calendar. Leave your email after voting and we send you the score and the video the day it goes live, and nothing else.

Once 4 or more products in a collection have a crew score, the top of that collection shows three picks:

• Best Quality. The highest crew composite in the collection.
• Best Price. The cheapest product we would actually run: lowest current price with a composite of 6.0 or higher.
• Best Value. The most score per dollar: highest composite divided by price, with a composite of 6.5 or higher.

They recompute every night from the scores and the live prices. Nobody on the crew can override a pick and no brand can buy one. Below 4 tested products you see a progress bar instead, and the vote button decides what gets tested next.

A wrong fitment line, a score that does not match the video, a photo that should not be up: tell us on the contact page and a real person fixes it. The whole system only works if it is right.
