Talaria XXX vs XXX Pro — What's Actually Different?
Share
Talaria's XXX (sometimes labeled X3) and XXX Pro (X3 Pro) live in the same product line and get marketed using overlapping language. Here's what's actually different between them and which one is right for your build.
The headline difference
The XXX Pro is the higher-spec variant. It ships with a stronger motor (~18kW peak vs ~14kW), upgraded battery cells, improved gearbox internals, and slightly different geometry in the rear shock mount. The XXX is the base — fully rideable, but built to a lower price point.
What's the same
- Frame and swingarm
- Wheels and tires (stock)
- Brake hardware (same calipers, same rotors, same lines)
- Bodywork, decals, and seat
- Most footpeg, bracket, and cockpit parts (so aftermarket fits both)
What's different in detail
- Motor: Pro gets a larger stator and tighter winding tolerances. ~25% more torque, ~15% more peak power.
- Battery: Pro uses higher-discharge cells — same capacity (in Ah) but holds voltage better under hard load. You'll feel this on hill climbs and at high RPM.
- Gearbox: Pro has a stronger primary gear set rated for the higher torque output. Stock XXX gearboxes have been known to fail when riders swap in a Sotion or Ventus race motor; Pro gearboxes hold up.
- Rear shock mount: Slightly different bolt spacing. Most aftermarket triangles fit both with the right hardware, but always check.
Aftermarket compatibility
Almost everything is cross-compatible. Same XXX Pro parts typically fit the XXX, with the rare exception of motor-specific items (controllers, jackshaft bolts, gearbox internals). Always check fitment notes — we list both XXX and XXX Pro on every product where it matters.
OEM parts are different
If you need OEM replacement parts (broken throttle, fender, wiring harness, etc.) it matters which one you have. We have separate OEM collections: Talaria XXX OEM and (coming soon) XXX Pro OEM.
Which should you buy?
Buy the XXX if: Budget matters, you're new to e-moto, or you plan to upgrade incrementally and don't need the extra power today.
Buy the XXX Pro if: You're already an experienced rider, you want headroom for a future motor swap, or you'll feel the difference (taller / heavier riders will).
Realistically, 80% of the riders who ask us this question pick the Pro and don't regret it. The remaining 20% want a beater bike or a kid's bike and the regular XXX is perfect.
